We believe that collaboration with the family and the school is the foundation for the success of any intervention. Together, we build a solid foundation for a future full of confidence and perspective.
My name is Vryonaki Athanasia and what I would like you to know about me is that I am by choice in the field of education – therapy as a Speech Therapist and Special Educator .
I have a great love for children and it is my pleasure to help them in every therapeutic and educational way. My dream in my professional life is to see my little friends reach their fullest potential and parents eliminate their worries through our collaboration.
Regarding my scientific and professional career, I am a graduate of the Speech Therapy Department, School of Health & Welfare Professions of the Higher Technological Vocational Institute (ATEI) of Kalamata and holder of the Speech Therapist’s license and the pedagogical competence of ASPAITE .
Even before I received my degree, I started to educate myself and stay informed by attending numerous seminars and supervisions. Over time, I specialized in the field of Special Education , completing my specialization in “ Special Education – Learning Disabilities ” at the Kapodistrian University of Athens , the specialization in “Special Education – Learning Disabilities: Intervention in Language and Mathematics” at the University of Thessaly and the “Teacher Training Program in Intercultural Education for Students with Refugee and Immigrant Background” at the University of the Aegean .
Specifically, in the field of Speech Therapy, I deal with the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, articulation and communication, in children and adults (e.g. articulation disorders, phonological disorders, language development delay, developmental language disorders, learning disabilities, speech flow disorders – stuttering, mental retardation, pervasive developmental disorders, attention deficit disorders – hyperactivity). In the field of Special Education, I take on children with specific learning difficulties, dyslexia, dyslexia, dyscalculia, children with learning gaps that are behind their class level, with difficulty expressing and developing oral and written language, etc.
Since 2012, I have been working as a parallel support assistant in schools for 9 years, while since 2013 I have been working in rehabilitation centers as a Speech Therapist and Special Education Teacher and at the same time I have been providing home Speech Therapy and Special Education services, implementing personalized treatment programs.
In 2021, a dream of mine came true with the creation of the Speech & Movement Therapy Center in Elliniko, Attica, which so many families and associates trusted and embraced.
In 2024, observing the needs that arose in the children’s daily lives, we incorporated new services into our center, creating another space in Ano Glyfada.
Additionally, I write on the blog of this website, which has been operating since May 2019.
Throughout my academic and professional career, I have attended educational seminars, deepening and acquiring specialized knowledge in a wide range of communication, speech and language disorders. All of this allows me to approach children and their families in a multifaceted way with modern methods, love, understanding and empathy.
